In 2019, Raiders introduced a new initiative: the Sister Team Program.
The Sister Team Program was established to encourage new relationship building between our junior
and senior netball teams, fostering a more cohesive and caring club.
The Sister Teams are hoped to provide inspirational role models for the younger players
and grow a sense of servant-heartedness for the older girls as they give back to their
'little sisters'.
How does the Sister Team Program work?
On a weekly roster, players from each senior team are required to attend
their little sister's training session to assist (no preparation required) the team coach.
Additionally, on three occasions during the season, the seniors (as many of the team as
possible) are called on to cheer their little sisters during their Saturday game and vice
versa, with their little sisters watching their big sisters' game that day too.
Teams are also encouraged to come together, on at least one of the Saturday games, to
spend time between their two games having lunch or morning tea together at the courts. Each coach and team manager are advised of which big sister or little sister team they've been partnered with, and team managers will advise teams of rostering.
