Raiders' Braiders a HUGE success!

A huge thank you to everyone who came down to support Raiders' Braiders yesterday at WDNA. We raised a total of $1,900 for Buy A Bale - an Australia-wide drought assistance program supporting Aussie farmers and rural communities.

We especially would like to thank our fantastic volunteers for devoting their time and effort. Plenty of generous people came from other clubs to stop by for a braid, to donate, or to help with the braiding themselves.
A special mention to Centenary Netball Club who donated $100, and Statewide Wealth Group donating $500.

We are so grateful and proud to be part of such a wonderful club. Well done everyone!

Save the date!

As always, the Raiders' Committee is working hard to make our Junior and Senior presentation events a truly exciting end to the season.

Please lock into your diary:
Friday 31 August - Junior Presentation Afternoon/Night (NetSetGo - 13's)
Friday 7 September - Senior Presentation Night (14/15's - A Grade)

More information to come in the next few days!

Local Matters at Grill'd TOOWONG this August!

We’ve been selected to participate in Local Matters at Grill’d Toowong this August!

Local Matters is the Grill’d community donation program that sees each Grill’d restaurant donate $500 back into the community every month. The donation is split between 3 local community groups $300 / $100 / $100.

We’d love your support in receiving the highest $300 donation! Simply head to Grill’d Toowong during August for a burger and pop your Local Matters token in our jar. The group with the most tokens at the end of the month receives the largest donation.

It’s a simple (and delicious) way to show your support!

You’ll find us on a jar at Grill’d Toowong, Shop G44 Toowong Village, 9 Sherwood Road, Toowong.

PJ's & Bedtime Toy Training

Last minute announcement! Raiders will be having a Pj’s & Bedtime Toy Training Session on Wednesday 1st August!

We apologise for the late notice and although it is too late to organise yummies for the whole Club, we encourage individual teams to organise some special post-training food anyway... but don’t forget to cater for the extra bedtime guests!

In The Finals?

Wests are hosting scoring and timekeeping training sessions at the WDNA Clubhouse on Saturday 4th August. It is recommended that all Managers of Raiders teams and/or those who are responsible for the timekeeping/scoring in the finals attend one of these sessions. There will be two sessions available: 10:30am and 3:10pm (they only run for a few minutes!)

Our sessions are fun and full of laughter and anyone that might be feeling nervous about trying something new or coming alone is encouraged to join in. We promise to make sure everyone feels welcome.

Wests Photo Day (2/2) - Saturday 16 June!

Get your cameras ready!
This Saturday 16 June is the second (and final) Photo Day at Wests for the 2018 season!

During the season written permission must be obtained from the relevant parents or guardians prior to the taking of any photograph of WDNA members under the age of 18.
However during the season, WDNA dedicate two days where photographs may be taken without having to obtain permission - WDNA Photo Day!
This year, the days for taking photos are Saturday 19 May and Saturday 16 June.

If anyone missed out on being included in their team photo at the last Photo Day or your team had a bye that weekend, we ask that another team photo please be organised before/after games this weekend. Raiders will not be providing a photographer this time round, so it is the responsibility of each team to organise their own team photo/any action shots of players.

If Team Managers could please send their team photos/any action shots through to us that would be great.

If you have any questions about Photo Day, please email us at

Wests Scoring Protocol

WDNA value the contribution of volunteers and have asked that all clubs share the districts' scoring protocol.

Technical officials responsible for maintaining a scoring record of the match together with a record of centre passes and details of players on court.

The official record of the match results.

Scorers shall ensure:
  • The team listed first on the fixture sheet shall collect the card from the WDNA front counter.
  • Before the start of play ensure all players have signed the card.
  • One scorer from each team shall stand together on the sideline in the middle of the court.
  • During the match, record goals scored for each team as they occur as well as any unsuccessful shots. Successful goals are recorded as a stoke and missed goals are recorded as a dot. Tally the scores at the end of each quarter.
  • Keep a record of the centre pass taken by each team.
  • DO NOT call out while scoring (this includes cheering).
  • Notify the umpires if an incorrect centre pass is indicated prior to the whistle being blown for the centre pass. No action will be taken if the centre pass has already been taken.
  • At the end of the match scorers, umpires, and captains sign the scorecard.
  • The winning team should return the scorecard to WDNA admin.

Wests Photo Day (1/2) - Saturday 19 May!

We are excited to announce that Raiders have organised a photographer to take both individual team photos and some action shots during games on Saturday 19 May.

To maximise efficiency, we are relying on our fabulous Team Managers (and NetSetGo parents) to organise the girls to be primped and prompt for their team photo opportunity.

Teams (with their Coach) need to be assembled on the grassed area at the end of Courts 19 and 20 - ten minutes before their allotted photo shoot. If you would prefer to not have your/your child's photograph taken, you must let your team manager know.

If you have any questions about Photo Day, please email us at

April 'Dignity Drive'

huge thank you to everyone who generously donated sanitary items to our 'April Dignity Drive' for Australian women's charity, Share the Dignity.

The storage box we had located at the Raiders Tent was overflowing with donations, a truly amazing effort! Simply for just the price of a takeaway coffee, we have each been able to put our hand up and share the dignity this April. What an incredible achievement.

For those who aren't aware, Share the Dignity is an Australian women's charity bringing dignity to homeless, at-risk, and women experiencing domestic violence through distribution of sanitary items and funding funerals of those killed as a result of domestic violence.

For more information on this amazing charity and their work, please visit

S&C Training offered to ALL Wests players

Well done to those that participated in the Term 1 FG Performance Netball program. Registrations are now open for Term 2. FG Performance aims to compliment skills sessions, and training has proven to increase jump height, sprint speed, and encourages high intensity.

Due to most clubs' busy weekly schedule, FG have added a GYM only option for 14+ years to attend that runs on Sundays 2:00 - 3:00pm.

All registration information can be seen in the attached flyer or via this link

All uniforms must be ordered and paid for online via our website shop prior to pick-up. You'll be able to check sizing at the shed, do not worry! If you have a second hand (2017-issued) Raiders uniform that you/your daughter has out-grown, feel free to post to our Raiders Netball Club Facebook page. We support second-hand sales, however leave it up to you to organise privately. Posting to our Raiders Facebook wall is the best way to get in touch with the Club community!

Any questions please contact our uniform coordinator, Karen Hayden on 0419 678 113 or
