Junior Coach Development Program

This year, Raiders has introduced the 2024 Junior Coach Development Program (JCDP). This program will facilitate the development of our aspiring coaches (turning 14 years and older) who can see themselves wanting to coach a team of their own one day. Raiders currently has the policy that a coach must be 18 years of age in order to coach a team. Coaches apart of the JCDP will be given the opportunity to gain the required knowledge and experience so that they can coach a team of their own in the future. Our aspiring coaches from the JCDP will be placed with an experienced coach of a Junior Raiders team over the 2024 season, and will assist them at all training sessions and Saturday games. A team of experienced Coaching Mentors will assist with the program.

Requirements

Maintain a weekly record of learning outcomes from training sessions and games
Submit 3 training session plans and execute 1 full training session independently
Assist team coach where required, including filling in if the coach is absent (with assistance)
Receive frequent feedback and support from the Coaching Coordinator and Coaching Mentors
Participate in the JCDP specialised coaching workshop
Attendance at all training sessions, games and team events

Mentors

A team of Coaching Mentors are available to assist you throughout the season if you have any questions. They will also be monitoring your attendance, participation in the program and ensuring all requirements are being fulfilled.
